Hand-woven sculpture shaped like a placenta, in blue, cream and red yarn, with its umbilical cord rising upwards

Matrescence – A Rite of Passage is a long-term project about the transformation of becoming a mother.

Hand-woven sculptures shaped like placentas and umbilical cords respond to voice and touch, triggering sound across a surrounding multichannel system. Voice, field recordings of ice, water and steam, and electronic and electroacoustic music. With Absurdum Temporary Art, 2024–ongoing. The work is currently in development and will be available for booking from autumn 2027.
